Difference between Type capacitor and ceramic chip capacitor;

1. safety capacitor is a capacitor to be certified by safety, which generally includes x capacitor and y capacitor. Mainly measured by insulation grade.

2. Porcelain chip capacitor is an ordinary capacitor, which has not passed the safety certification, so it cannot be used before rectification, nor can it be bridged across both ends of the right insulation requirement. For example, in the primary and secondary side of AC-DC architecture, Y-CAP can only be placed.

 Safety capacitor is generally suitable for such occasions, that is, when the capacitor fails, it will not cause electric shock and endanger personal safety. It includes X capacitor and Y capacitor. X is the capacitance across two lines (L-N) of power line, and metal film capacitor is generally selected. Y capacitors are capacitors that are respectively connected between the two lines of the power line and the ground (L-E, N-E), and generally appear in pairs. Due to the limitation of leakage current, the value of Y capacitance should not be too large. Generally, X capacitance is uF level and Y capacitance is nF level. X capacitor suppresses differential mode interference and y capacitor suppresses common mode interference.

 Y capacitor of safety capacitor must be certified by relevant safety inspection organization. Y capacitors in the market are mostly blue in appearance, and are generally marked with safety certification marks (such as UL, CQC, TUV, etc.) and withstand voltage of AC300V or AC400V. However, its true DC withstand voltage is as high as 6000V or more. Attention should be paid to the fact that the y capacitor should not be replaced by ordinary capacitors such as the nominal withstand voltage AC300V or DC400V.

 X capacitor, as one of the safety capacitors, also requires to obtain the certification of relevant safety inspection organizations. X capacitor is generally marked with safety certification mark and withstand voltage AC275V or AC310V, but its true DC withstand voltage is as high as 1300V or more, so do not use ordinary capacitors such as nominal withstand voltage AC250V or DC400V to replace them when using.

Porcelain chip capacitor is a circular plate capacitor with ceramic material as medium. In "porcelain chip" capacitor, generally, the voltage below DC50V is called low voltage, DC100V~500V is medium voltage, DC1000V~6000V is high voltage, and DC above 6000 V is ultrahigh voltage.

 Porcelain chip capacitor has the characteristics of wear resistance and DC high voltage, and is suitable for high voltage bypass. Among them, low loss high voltage wafer has low dielectric loss, which is especially suitable for TV receiver and scanning circuit.
